Jean Gouweloos was a Belgian painter of portraits and figures, nudes, landscapes and seascapes.
He started his artistic education in the atelier of painter-decorator Charles Albert. He continued his education at the Academy of Brussels under the tutorship of Jean Portaels from 1886 until 1888. He was a member of "Voorwaarts" in 1891 and the avant-garde group "Le Sillon" in 1895.
He participated at the Triennale Salons and the "Salon de la Société des Beaux-Arts".
