About the artist
Ferenc Gaal (b. Debrecen (Hungary) 1891 - died Los Angeles (California) 1956) attended the art academy in Budapest. He made several study trips in Germany, France and Italy. In 1951 he left for the United States. First lived in Cleveland and then moved to Los Angeles in 1952, where he lived until his death in 1956. He was an impressionist painter of Hungarian, Austrian and Italian landscapes and cities. He also painted still lifes and portraits.
